Transition...

In a little less than 2 months Carrie and I will be making our big move back to the north country. It feels like the period of transition has begun.

The move became a little more real this week as Carrie and I found ourselves a place to live in Winnipeg. It's a basement suite and more than we could have asked for or imagined!

As I anticipate this move, I am very much looking forward to living a little closer to my family!

Along with some of the excitement of the move I'm already beginning to experience some of the difficulty of saying goodbye. There are so many wonderful people here in Indiana that I would like to just sneak into our moving trailer and take them along, not the least of which are these two wonderful women.
Julie and Linda are the co-directors of Pathways Retreat and I am having so much fun learning from and with them in my retreat ministry internship.

As part of our transition, Carrie and I marked our 3.5 years in Indiana with a photo shoot. Here's one sneak peek from that day (along with my new profile picture to the right):

A big thank you and shout out to Jen Shenk Photography for the amazing pictures!

I am so glad that I'll be making this transition back to Canada with my roommate of 9 years, partner in ministry, and best friend! Neither of us can imagine what our time in Indiana would have been like without one another and we look forward to the next chapter together.

Our plan as of now is to move back to Winnipeg and then afford ourselves some time and grace to discern next steps. Both Carrie and I have changed a lot during our time at seminary and it may take some navigating once we return to Winnipeg to figure out where we are being called to serve. Some prospects are in the air but it is incredibly difficult to network from this distance - and we both have a sense that networking and relationship building is a lot of what we have in store upon our return as we both find ourselves in pioneering work and not fitting neatly into boxes.

So I think I can speak for both of us when I say we are sad to be leaving this place and these people, but also getting excited about what's next!
