On Monday our first order of business was to demo the playhouse...
Cara taking a swing at it with the sledgehammer
We were going to try to pull it closer to the dumpster...
...but it was too rotten for that!
Our second attempt at dragging the playhouse...
...tore off the side.
We decided we needed to do an on-site demolition.
YUP!
Victory is ours!
Breaking down some of the pieces so that they'll fit in the dumpster.
Catharsis anyone?
Cara dragging away the floor.
And underneath we found this lovely surprise!
I'm really looking forward to one last summer on the crew. After 9 months of academic study I'm always more than ready to get outside and work. Yesterday we moved all of the furniture out of an entire duplex and today my muscles are definitely feeling it! I need to get back into shape. The guys even had me driving the truck and trailer to Goodwill to drop off a load of furniture - all we lost on our way was a lampshade which got stuck under the car that was following us...ooops! Today we started some exterior painting (which is much of what this summer holds) until the storms rolled in. We headed inside, but Cara and I found ourselves getting soaked anyway as we fought with the plumbing under a kitchen sink.
The adventure continues...
(check back regularly for pics of our summer crew antics and/or look back to last summer's blog entries for more accounts of Cara and Alicia's handiwork)

I'm curious, what was Christina's reaction to the playhouse adventure with you and Cara?
Hey, Alicia...when you come back to Canada, I've got 2 chicken coops that need to be demo'd!
