Canadian Thanksgiving...

On Saturday, after I was done class, Carrie and I headed up to Sarnia for Thanksgiving. What's in Sarnia you might ask? That's what the US border crossing officer asked us too. The real reason why we went to Canada was because our car needed to enter Canada - because it is a lease, it needs to enter the country every 6 months. We just so happened to go up there on Thanksgiving weekend. While we were there we hit a Superstore for some Canadian groceries, mostly for friends - high on the list for most people were Coffee Crisp bars! Tim Hortons coffee, Shreddies, Ketchup chips, and President Choice's Memories of Szechuan stir fry sauce were also on the list.

We didn't go very far into Canada. In fact, the bridge to cross over from one country to the next was in plain view of our hotel. We had contemplated visiting friends on this trip but the extra 6 hours of driving didn't fit into our schedule. So we spent 2 nights in a hotel, just over the border. On our way home today we stopped in Detroit to visit an Ikea! My favorite purchase there was my new bedside lamp - a frosted globe with a flower design that just kind of glows. So that was our quick trip this weekend. Happy (Canadian) Thanksgiving everyone!
