The other day I was looking for a cheap pair of winter boots and couldn't find any. Today I'm really wishing that I had some! We've been in a "winter storm" since Friday and it's only supposed to get worse tomorrow. I laughed as they told us to pick up any groceries we might need before the weekend because a storm was coming. I went out on the weekend, no problem. A little snow never stopped a prairie girl. But what I'm amazed at is how much snow can fall in a short period of time, and it's very wet snow. This morning I was supposed to go to an appointment and I wasn't sure if I'd be able to make it out of the parking lot; plus my car hasn't been dug out for a couple of days. Fortunately, the office called and cancelled the appointment.
It's actually really beautiful outside. The snow covered ground is much prettier than what we had last week when there wasn't any snow on the ground and it looked like late fall/early spring - very unusual in my experience of January but completely normal here, or so I'm told.
I took one picture out of my bedroom window and maybe later today I'll venture out and get a few more shots. I'm not sure if you can see it in the picture but there are huge snowflakes falling and they're swirling around. It's almost like the snow is falling down and then blowing back up at the same time.
